Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15/01/26

Digital Pickle respects your privacy. This page explains what information I collect, why I collect it, how it’s used, and what your rights are — all in plain English, without unnecessary drama.

If you have any questions after reading this, feel free to get in touch.

Who I am

Digital Pickle
A UK-based digital support and consultancy service.

If you need to contact me about your data, you can do so via the contact form on this website.

What information I collect

I only collect information that’s genuinely useful and relevant. This may include:

  • Your name

  • Your email address

  • Your phone number (if you choose to provide it)

  • Any information you include in a contact form message

  • Basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and device information)

I do not collect:

  • unnecessary personal details

  • sensitive personal data

  • information for fun, curiosity, or “just in case”

How I collect your information

Your data is collected when you:

  • submit a contact form

  • email me directly

  • interact with the website (via cookies or analytics — see below)

You are always in control of what you choose to share.

Why I collect your information

Your information is used to:

  • respond to enquiries

  • provide services you’ve asked for

  • communicate about work we’ve agreed

  • keep basic business records

  • improve the website and services

I do not:

  • sell your data

  • rent your data

  • swap your data

  • add you to mailing lists without permission

  • do anything sneaky or annoying with it

Legal basis for processing your data

Under UK GDPR, I process your data based on:

  • Consent — when you contact me voluntarily

  • Contract — when we agree to work together

  • Legitimate interest — to run my business properly and respond to enquiries

  • Legal obligation — where required for tax or accounting purposes

How long I keep your data

I keep your data only for as long as it’s reasonably necessary:

  • Enquiry data: up to 12 months

  • Client data: for the duration of the working relationship, plus a reasonable period afterwards for records

  • Legal or financial records: as required by UK law

Once it’s no longer needed, it’s securely deleted.

No hoarding. No digital clutter.

Who I share your data with

Your data may be shared only with trusted third parties when necessary, such as:

  • website hosting providers

  • email services

  • payment providers (e.g. Stripe or banks)

  • accounting or bookkeeping services

All third parties are required to handle your data securely and in line with UK GDPR.

Your data will never be shared for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

Cookies (the boring but important bit)

This website may use cookies to:

  • ensure it works properly

  • understand how visitors use the site

  • improve performance and usability

Cookies do not identify you personally.

You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings if you wish — though some parts of the site may sulk slightly if you do.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • access the personal data I hold about you

  • request correction of inaccurate data

  • request deletion of your data

  • object to or restrict processing

  • request data portability

  • withdraw consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, just get in touch.

Data security

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are in place to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, or general digital mischief.

No system is perfect, but I take data protection seriously.

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated occasionally to reflect legal or operational changes.
Any updates will appear on this page.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how your data is handled (hopefully unlikely), you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):

www.ico.org.uk

In summary

  • Your data is treated with care

  • Only necessary information is collected

  • Nothing weird is done with it

  • You remain in control

If you still have questions, feel free to ask — I’m happy to explain things in normal human language.
